DuraFlex™ Boomer Bridge

Named for the Baby Boom generation that is now over 50 and starting to loose teeth, the DuraFlex™ Boomer Bridge is an excellent option to replace one or two teeth. Metal-free, esthetic, comfortable, and with an easy path of insertion, Boomer Bridges can also be used as a temporary replacement over implants or until a more permanent solution is available.

DuraFlex™ offers fantastic esthetics with veined acrylic in two shades. The material is translucent allowing the natural coloring of the tissue to show through the material causing DuraFlex™ to virtually disappear in the mouth. DuraFlex™ is more dense than nylon based flexible materials so it holds its color better and is highly resistant to stains and odors.

Ultaire™ AKP

Ultaire AKP is an innovative high-performance polymer specifically formulated for dental applications. Ultaire AKP replaces the traditional cobalt chrome used for cast framework partials with a rigid, lightweight and highly aesthetic metal-free option that patients and dentists will appreciate. Ultaire AKP frames are digitally designed and milled resulting in a superior fit.

Indications

  • To serve as a splint to support periodontally involved teeth
  • Allergic reaction or side-effects from cast-frame partials
  • Kennedy Classes I, II and III and modifications
  • Aesthetic concerns with cast-frame partials

Contraindications

  • Lack of suitable teeth to support, stabilize and retain the prosthesis
  • Severe caries or periodontal conditions that threaten the abutment teeth
  • Kennedy Class IV

Advantages / Benefits

  • Taste-free; No change in food taste
  • Lightweight as compared to cast frames
  • Tooth-borne retention; Less strain on remaining bone
  • Stronger than acrylic and acetal metal-free alternatives
  • Biocompatible and non-irritant
  • High level of aesthetics due to the tooth-shaded color and staining options
  • CAD-CAM workflow, design and fit
  • Made in the USA

Seating Recommendations

Ultaire AKP frames should fit retentively at the initial seating without being too tight. Their fit will not change over time, but should be referred to the lab for modification if lacking retention.

Cleaning Recommendations

Standard Framework RPD cleaning recommendations and materials can be used with Ultaire AKP partials.

Adjusting & Polishing Recommendations

Ultaire AKP frames can be adjusted with standard dental instruments. Avoid using excessive force when altering the frame, as it can break when being modified outside the mouth. Unlike cast frames, Ultaire AKP frames and clasps cannot be bent. Tightening should not be necessary as fit will not change over time. If a clasp breaks, please take a standard pick-up impression of the partial in the mouth and return to the lab.

Cast Partials

NDX’s high-strength cast metal partials are made with cobalt-chrome alloy. Our alloy features a refined surface that polishes to a high-mirrored shine and is resistant to plaque buildup and are nickel-free, beryllium-free and iron-free. When a patient requires the strength of a cast partial, but with the aesthetics of a flexible partial, NDX’s hybrid partial is an excellent choice. Our hybrid partial consists of a cobalt-chrome cast metal subframe with flexible clasps or saddles. Clasps can be effectively hidden by crafting them from our clear or tissue-shaded Valplast or Duraflex thermoplastic materials.

Benefits

  • Less invasive and less expensive than bridges or implants.
  • Cobalt-chrome alloy increases adjustability while still limiting breakability.
  • High strength alloy also makes for thinner frameworks and stronger clasps.
  • Perfect for patients with certain metal allergies.

Indications

  • To replace several teeth in the same quadrant or both quadrants of the same arch.
  • As a temporary replacement for missing teeth in a child.
  • To replace missing teeth for patients who do not want a fixed bridge or implants.
  • To serve as a splint to support periodontally involved teeth.
  • For patients who maintain good oral hygiene.

Contraindications

  • Lack of suitable teeth in the arch to support, stabilize, and retain the removable prosthesis.
  • Rampant caries or severe periodontal conditions that threaten the remaining teeth in the arch.
  • A lack of patient acceptance for esthetic reasons.
  • Chronic poor oral hygiene.
