Course Overview
This course will cover all aspects of general dentistry for ceramic restorations, including selecting ceramic materials and ancillary components. The hands-on segment will cover case preparations, restorative fabrication and cementation, intraoral scans and shade taking. An inner-laboratory case production experience will visually illustrate the start-to-finish process.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this course, attendees should be able to:
- Understand the rationale and scientific evidence for using various ceramic materials
- Comprehend material-specific preparation and impression techniques
- Deploy best practices in case communication with a dental lab
- Use the best retraction, hemostasis and impression techniques for each restorative material

ARTHUR VOLKER, DDS, MSED, FAGD Dr. Arthur Volker graduated from the Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery. Dr. Volker has published articles, lectured and maintains a private practice specializing in minimally invasive and cosmetic dentistry, dental materials and dental implants.

Mr. Watkins has 30 years of experience in all aspects of fixed and removable restorations, focused on implant-supported restorations. He provides clinical support for case planning, troubleshooting and implant placement.
