Our Story

In 1982 Bill Layman and James Cason came together and created “Teeth by Layman, & Cason” Better known as “T.L.C. Dental Laboratory”. Since 1982 dentists have trusted T.L.C. for consultation and to craft patients’ dentures, partial denture frameworks, crowns and bridges, veneers, implant treatment planning, fixed restorations, and now offers chairside services as well. Rebranded as NDX T.L.C. in 1997 and later rebranded to NDX Florida Laboratories with the additions of “Top Quality Partials”, “Fox Dental Laboratory”, and “The Freeman Center” in 2012. In 2015, NDX Florida Laboratories announced another acquisition with the purchase of “Dynamic Ceramics” in 2015. Now known today as NDX Florida, our lab is accompanied by a network of support with every case.

Our team continues to stay current with state of the art technologies and excels in adapting them to maximize your patients’ experience. Our highly trained technicians, with an average dental experience of over 25 years, are dedicated to providing high quality personal service, taking 100% responsibility for meeting your expectations.

NDX Florida’s fixed restorations are digitally designed and constructed under a microscope for precision and accuracy. Each case undergoes three quality assurance checks - the department head, senior management and our shipping department. In fact, we are so confident in our products and service, we give our NDX Florida Signature Service Guarantee.

Our NDX Florida team actively works to enhance the profession of restorative dentistry. Lonnie Brewer – General Manager

Lonnie has been in the dental industry for the past 36 years. He attended Portland Community College, receiving an Associate’s Degree in Dental Technology. He is an active CDT. He came to NDX Rogers dental lab in 2007 and served as Fixed Department Manager until October 2017. He then moved to Orlando and became the current General Manager of NDX Florida Labs. Lonnie has lectured at UMKC and OHSU on implants, Captek and Empress. In his spare time, he likes spending time with family and relaxing by the pool.

Clay Scott – Lab Administrator

Clay, a Florida native, joined the NDX Florida team in early 2013, with strong Shipping and Receiving experience. He has grown his knowledge in the dental industry through on-the-job training and hands-on experience. Clay is now our Lab Administrator and brings more than four years of experience to the team. He works closely with Fixed and Removable management to help coordinate cases and workflow, as well as helping manage financials and operational needs. He is also in charge of our communications department, helping them maintain a healthy workflow and customer  relationships. In his spare time, he loves spending time with his family, as well as riding his dirt bike and spending time doing outdoor activities.

Kelly Green – Administrative Assistant

Kelly was born and raised in Wisconsin. She started as a technician in 1990 and is now our Administrative Assistant, which includes purchasing, accounting and customer service. Kelly is head of the Safety Team and leads our Customer Care Team. In her spare time, Kelly enjoys wedding planning and spending time with her pets.

Stephanie Wright – CAD/CAM Department Supervisor

Stephanie was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. She joined NDX Florida Laboratories five years ago after having been in other Supervisory and Team Lead roles at past employers. Being new to the dental industry, she started out in the Shipping and Receiving Department, and then quickly transitioned into the CAD/CAM Department where she has spent the last four and a half years. Stephanie graduated with her Associate’s Degree and is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Management. She also enjoys drawing, graphic design and spending time with her family.

Stephen Solanick – Fixed Department Manager

Steve, A native Floridian, got his start in dental technology at his father’s Crown and Bridge lab in 1994 where he worked until he had the opportunity to start at NDX Florida in 2013. He initially specialized in fixed implant prosthetics, becoming the Fixed Implant Manager, and then was promoted to manage the Crown and Bridge Department shortly thereafter. He finds the position highly rewarding, being able to use his years of experience to help with problem solving, to build client relationships to improve his patients’ quality of life. He enjoys playing golf, hiking and outdoor activities.

Trudy Hornbacher – Removable Department Manager

Trudy graduated from Central Community College in Hastings, Nebraska in 1986 with an Associate’s of Science degree in Dental Laboratory Technology. She then moved to the suburbs of Chicago and spent 32 years of her career working in various laboratories in the Chicagoland area, 10 of those years being part owner of a full service dental lab. Trudy has traveled in and out of the country to teach C&B model prep classes. She has extensive knowledge in removable products as well as implant-retained removable & fixed restorations. Trudy recently moved to Florida from Illinois and joined NDX Florida Lab in August 2018 as the Removable Department Manager. In her free time, she enjoys playing golf, riding her motorcycle, being at the beach, reading and spending time with family and friends.
